We welcome all those with an interest in the history of our area, and encourage them to undertake and share their own research.

The annual membership fee for individuals aged 18 and over is currently £10, with Joint or Family membership (two or more individuals at the same address) at £15. Institutional membership costs £15.

We are keen to attract younger members to the society, and reduced rates are available for those under 18. If this is of interest, please contact the Membership Secretary.

Annual membership runs from 1 January to 31 December each year, and we encourage existing members to renew their subscriptions as soon as possible in each successive year. If a new member joins after 1 October in any year, their first subscription will be extended to 31 December the following year.

To renew your membership, we encourage you to send an online payment direct to our bank account at Santander UK plc: sort code 09-01-55, account number 88081906, account name Lewisham Local History Society.  If you cannot do this, please send a cheque payable to the Society to the Membership Secretary at the address shown on the Contact page.

Better still, to avoid a gap in membership please ask your bank to set up an annual standing order to the above account.  We suggest setting 1 February as the annual payment date.  Unfortunately, for technical and administrative reasons, we cannot offer Direct Debit as a payment method.
